Membership

We, the members of Hope Family Church, having repented of our sins, having believed in Jesus Christ for the salvation of our souls, and having been baptized into his body, do hereby acknowledge together, as God’s holy people in this local church, that our lives are to be governed by the Word of God, empowered by the Spirit of God, in order to magnify the Son of God, Jesus Christ who is our Lord and Savior.

To Love God (Matt 22:37)

• We will seek to worship God in spirit and in truth, both corporately and privately (John 4:24).
• We will seek to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ through the regular reading and study of Scripture (2 Peter 3:18).
• We will seek to live lives of prayer, depending on God in all things (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
• We will seek to live holy lives that are pleasing to God, putting off sin and putting on righteousness by the power of the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:22-24).
• We will seek to steward our time, talents, and treasures for the glory of God and the good of His church (1 Peter 4:10).

To Love Each Other (Matt 22:39; 1 John 4:21)

• We will seek to faithfully attend the gatherings of the church, not neglecting to meet together (Hebrews 10:25).
• We will seek to use our spiritual gifts to serve one another and build up the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:7; Ephesians 4:12).
• We will seek to bear one another’s burdens, rejoicing with those who rejoice and weeping with those who weep (Galatians 6:2; Romans 12:15).
• We will seek to speak the truth in love, admonishing and encouraging one another (Ephesians 4:15; Colossians 3:16).
• We will seek to pursue unity and peace within the body, guarding against gossip, slander, and divisiveness (Ephesians 4:3; Romans 16:17).
• We will seek to practice forgiveness and reconciliation, following the pattern of Matthew 18:15-17 when conflict arises.

To Love the Lost (Matt 22:39)

• We will seek to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those who do not know Him, both locally and globally (Matthew 28:19-20; Acts 1:8).
• We will seek to live as salt and light in our communities, demonstrating the love of Christ through word and deed (Matthew 5:13-16).
• We will seek to pray for the lost and for the advance of the gospel throughout the world (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
• We will seek to support and encourage those who are sent out from among us to proclaim the gospel (Romans 10:14-15).

We further acknowledge that we will submit to the loving leadership and authority of the elders of this church, as they watch over our souls (Hebrews 13:17). We will support them in prayer, encourage them in their labor, and follow their godly counsel as they lead in accordance with the Word of God.
